As both a laboratory researcher and clinician, Dr Bilmon is committed to finding “bench to bedside” solutions for patients living with haematological malignancies and blood disorders.

He holds dual fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and works in both the public and private sectors.

Dr Bilmon sees hundreds of patients every year across the Upper North Shore, Hills District and Parramatta areas of Sydney, through the Westmead Public Hospital and the Sydney Adventist Hospital systems.

Dr Bilmon has a special interest in haematologic malignancy – including lymphomas, myeloma, myelodysplasia and leukaemia, stem cell transplantation and clinical trials.

He also has a special interest in cellular therapies, including autologous and allogeneic transplantation, chimeric antigen receptor therapy, T‑cell lymphoma, cutaneous lymphoma, and other rare lymphoma subtypes.

Dr Bilmon graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science (Pure Mathematics) in 1997 and then obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with honours from Flinders University South Australia in 2001.
He then further trained in clinical and laboratory haematology through the Royal North Shore Hospital and Westmead Hospital networks.

Dr Bilmon’s research fellowship, undertaken at the Cellular Therapies Laboratory (Westmead Millennium Institute), focussed on chimeric antigen receptor modified T‑cell (CART) treatments for blood malignancy.
His clinical fellowship in stem cell transplantation was undertaken at St Vincent’s Hospital Darlinghurst and this research focussed on haematopoietic transplantation from alternate donors.

Dr Bilmon also completed a Master of Philosophy at the University of Sydney in 2015.
